Are there any prerequisites for this course?

A basic understanding of healthcare terminologies and concepts is beneficial. Familiarity with essential principles of data science and computer science can be helpful but is not mandatory, as introductory modules are included.

Many of our students can claim back the course cost (or for each separate module) via their employer’s training and professional development budget, including NHS trusts, GP practices and private healthcare settings. If you are self-employed, the course costs can be submitted under the professional development section of your self-assessment tax return. Be sure to keep your receipt and the CPD certificate/s. Your first module is free of charge and worth 2 CPD points.

The entire course takes approximately 30 hours to complete. However, we have broken this into six manageable modules. Each lesson is delivered in an easy-to-understand format and focuses on real-world applications of AI in healthcare. The content is available in written and audio formats, allowing you to learn on the go. Lessons average 2 to 5 minutes. Module 1 – Introduction to Medical AI takes 2 hours to complete, plus an online end-of-module exam. Module 2 – Understanding Data takes 7 hours and an online end-of-module exam. Module 3 – Supervised Learning takes 4.5 hours to complete, plus an online end-of-module exam. Module 4 – Unsupervised Learning takes 3.5 hours to complete, plus an online end-of-module exam. Module 5 – Reinforcement Learning takes 5 hours to complete, plus an online end-of-module exam. Module 6 – Deep Learning takes 9 hours to complete, plus an online end-of-module exam. Your first module is free of charge, worth 2 CPD points, and takes only approximately 2 hours to complete.

Once you have completed each module and passed the end-of-module exam, you will receive a certificate detailing the course, module and CPD points.
